Edmund L. Hafer, Jr. is the founder of Hafer Associates and the President of the Evansville Regional Business Committee, Inc. (ERBC). He was the Principal Architect of record on many Evansville landmark buildings. As president of Hafer Associates and the ERBC, he worked with businesses and community leaders in areas such as I-69, education, economic development, and downtown revitalization. In his role as an architect, Hafer founded the largest architectural/engineering firm in the region. For more than 30 years, he was involved in projects such as the 1984 Downtown Master plan, Riverfront Development, Evansville Regional Airport, Vectren Corporate Headquarters and Operations Center, the 21 SE Third Street Building, the Old Post Office restoration, One Riverfront Place, Casino Aztar, the Victory Theater, numerous projects at the University of Evansville, the University of Southern Indiana, and the Indiana Governmental Center in Indianapolis.
He is a member of the Executive Committees of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, the Southwest Indiana Chamber, and the Southwest Indiana Economic Development Coalition; Vice-Chair of the Signature School, and a member of the board of Hoosier Voices for I-69, the Evansville Industrial Foundation and the Board of Visitors of the University of Evansville. He serves on the Regional Board of Fifth Third Bank and the Board of Directors of Fendrich Industries. Hafer also served as a member of the Government Unification Committee, the Evansville Redevelopment Commission, the Mayor's Education Roundtable and the boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations.
