Dr. Linda L.M. Bennett

Dr. Linda Bennett was selected to be the third president of the University of Southern Indiana in 2009, after serving as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs since 2003. She is professor emerita of Political Science with more than 30 years of teaching experience. Her scholarship ranges from public opinion about American politics to issues in higher education.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio and a first generation college student, she received her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. She began her teaching career at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and went on to administrative posts at Northern Kentucky University and Appalachian State University before coming to USI.
Since coming to Evansville, Dr. Bennett has been deeply involved in the community serving on multiple non-profit boards in the region. She has also been active at the national level through the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Her community involvement has been recognized by the Evansville Rotary Club, Leadership Evansville, the Optimists Club, and the Buffalo Trace Boy Scouts Club.
Since her retirement in June 2018, she and her husband Stephen continue to enjoy their adoptive home town of Evansville.
