As the head of Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company (SIGECO), Andrew Goebel was key to the formation of Vectren Corporation. Goebel enjoyed a long, successful career with SIGECO and Vectren - a company that provides gas and electricity to residents throughout the region. He was President and Chief Operating Officer when he retired in 2003. After retirement, he began work as Executive Director of the Evansville Regional Business Committee and a management and financial consultant. He currently serves on the boards of Old National Bancorp, Indiana-American Water Company, South Central Communications Corporation, Brake Supply Company, and Community Natural Gas Company. He is also a member of the University of Evansville board of trustees.

Those who know Goebel say he has a high level of integrity and the critical thinking necessary to succeed. They also note that he has maintained a strong dedication to Evansville and the success of the city throughout his life. Goebel actively supports Catholic education in Evansville and served on the Boards of Trustees of Reitz Memorial High School and Mater Dei High School. Past activities include the boards of the Indiana Electric Association, Indiana Manufacturers Association, Union Federal Savings Bank, Mission Health, and Operation City Beautiful.

Among the many honors Goebel has received are the Evansville Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year in 2000 and the Distinguished Citizen of the Year from the Buffalo Trace Council of the Boy Scouts. Goebel holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from the University of Evansville.
