Chief Executive Offficer
American Patriot Group, LLC and White Stallion Energy, LLC
Steven Chancellor has started many successful ventures in a wide range of industries, including defense, plastics, insurance, food, transportation, and real-estate. He is best known, however, for his many years in the coal industry.
Mr. Chancellor is CEO and chairman of American Patriot Group, LLC, the parent company of White Stallion Energy, LLC—a coal and energy company that consists of six mines and more than 600 employees. The formation of White Stallion Energy in 2017 marks Chancellor’s return to the coal industry where he began his career over 40 years ago with Black Beauty Coal. Under his leadership, Black Beauty grew into the largest privately held coal company in the eastern United States, mining 25 million tons of coal annually and employing more than 1,400 employees both in the mines and at company headquarters in Evansville.
However, it is not all business for Chancellor. A true philanthropist, he believes each individual must give back more than they receive. He serves on many local and national boards, established the Chancellor Foundation for International Wildlife Conservation, and together with his wife, Terri, founded the Chancellor Oncology Center at Deaconess Hospital.
Mr. Chancellor was born, went to school, and has worked in the Evansville area his entire life founding many companies and subsidiaries within the area including AmeriQual Foods and Packaging, Omni Plastics, Gibco Motor Express, and others. With his vision, tenacity, and belief in community, Steven Chancellor remains an enduring influence in shaping and growing our region’s economic opportunity and potential.
