Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Harding, Shymanski and Company, P.S.C.
Richard W. Shymanski believed in a collaborative, client-focused culture as the bedrock of great business, so much so that in 1972 he and his business partner founded the prominent Evansville based CPA firm, Harding, Shymanski and Company, P.S.C. (HSC) on this doctrine. Shymanski’s commitment to the “one-firm” management structure paved the way for HSC’s early and rapid growth, and remains fundamental to the firm’s continued success. Best known for his integrity, astute business sense and compassion, Shymanski was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HSC and served as Chairman of the Board and President of Fendrich Industries, Inc.
A lifelong friend noted that “Shymanski was a man who seemed larger than life, until you met him.” Those who knew him well called him mentor, advisor, confidant, soccer coach, and friend. With a passion for education, and a benevolent heart, Shymanski and his wife established the Richard and Marian Shymanski Scholarship Fund at the University of Evansville. This act of generosity illustrated the remarkable character of this outstanding community champion.
Armed with a selfless disposition, Shymanski contributed many years of community board membership, including Deaconess Hospital, Deaconess Health System, University of Evansville, Vectren Corporation, City of Evansville Human Relations Commission, Evansville Vanderburgh County Airport Authority and the Vanderburgh County Planning Commission. Shymanski graduated from St. Louis University and served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Turner Joy.
